Lush Comforter Bubble Bar

I picked up this bubble bar myself, but it was part of my mom's Christmas present for me. My friend gave me The Comforter Shower gel, and i fell in love with the smell. And i mainly got this bar because of it's scent. It mostly smells like black currant, which is not something i usually like, but with a mixture of fruits the bar smells so good! I couldn't resist buying it.

This is actually first bubble bar i've tried from lush, before i only used bath bombs. And i expected the bar to be enough only for one bath, but i crumbled a little piece, less than third part, and it made the entire bath full of bubbles.

I'm so pleased with how little you need for one time! No need to say that my whole bathroom smelled amazing. It's also supposed to make water purple, but i used it with other bath bombs, so the colour wasn't purple. Lying in a bath with Comforter felt so calming, i was fully relaxed. This is exactly what one needs after a rough day. From now on this might be one of my favorite lush products!

Have you tried this bubble bar or any other lush products? Please give me some recommendations and reviews!

Sephora Beauty Blender

I've wanted to try a beauty blender for ages! I just couldn't find it anywhere i live. I don't ever use brushes for my foundation or concealer, so i've always used my fingers for it. But i get really grossed out to put the rest of my makeup with some foundation remains on my hands. And every time i put foundation and concealer i had to get up and wash my hands. I know it's not that big of a deal, but it is really annoying if it's something you have to do every day, especially when in a rush. Back to the point, i've got a beauty blender from Sephora brand two months ago and i've been using it ever since.

Do i even need to point out the convinience of that way of applying foundation and concealer? Life changing! I use this blender to apply pretty much everything that can possibly be applied with it.

With the round side i apply:
  • Face primer (i love Baby Skin by Maybelline)
  • Foundation
  • Spot concealer
  • Benetint from Benefit as blusher
And i use the pointy side for:
  • Undereye concealer
  • Eyeshadow primer
  • Highlighter
My makeup routine has changed so much in terms of convinience, and the best part of using a beauty blender for me personally is that i don't have to wash my hands 30 times while doing my makeup. And also my foundation and concealer look so much better applied with the sponge, much more natural.
Now, let's talk about this particular blender. As i mentioned, this is the first one i've ever tried, but i love it a lot. It's very soft and gentle with my skin, makes my foundation look flawless. Though, i've noticed that i use a bit more foundation comparing to how much i would if applied with my fingers. But that's okay, it's worth it. I also really like that weird line in the middle of the blender that separates the foundation and concelaer part. That would come in very handy if your concelarer is a lot lighter than your foundation.
The only thing i don't like is that the pointy side is a bit too small and it's not perfectly convinient to use in the corners of my eyes. But that's not a problem for me at all.
Lots of love,
Dasha

NYX Mineral Finishing Powder

Today i want to talk about one of my newest purchases - NYX 'Set It & Don't Fret It" Matte Finishing Powder. As it is pointed out on the bottle, the powder is mineral, which i like. Ever since i got it, i've been using it every single day. I apply it with my kabuki brush from EcoTools that i got on Iherb two yers ago. Works great, by the way.

Why I Love The Powder
  • The milling is very fine. And the texture of the powder is silky
  • It isn't noticable on my face. I apply it in the morning and then i forget i even have it on. I don't feel it at all, and it doesn't make me look caky
  • It mattifies my skin and makes it look perfect. With no exagguration - P.E.R.F.E.C.T.
  • It looks as if it was ivory color, but when i apply it, it gives me no colour at all - just finishes off my face makeup
  • Stays on all day. Obviously, it wears off throughout the day a little bit - as any powder would do - but it still looks good in the evening
I honestly don't even have anything bad to say about the product, i'm in love. Truly. Madly. Deeply. (haha see what i did there?;) Highly recommend. It's actually the best drugstore powder i've tried!
By the way, have you tried this particular one or any powder by NYX? Tell me what you think! And i would love to hear your recommendations about NYX products i should try next. I just discovered this brand, and i'm slowly falling in love with it!

Books I've Read Lately // January-February Wrap Up

I love writing these posts, though i think i should do them monthly, because now i have quite a few books to show, hope the post won't be too long. As you probably know, i absolutely love reading, that's one of the things i can do non-stop, true hobby and something that brings me a lot of joy. And i read different kinds of books, i don't have a particular genre i stick to, it all depends on my mood.

Little Women by Louisa Alcott

I read this in the very beginning of January, and literally finished it in one sit, i couldn't stop reading. I know it's for children, but i honestly don't care, i didn' read that much as a child, and now i have to catch up. It's the most beautiful story of four sisters, honestly, these little girls deserve admiration. This book is full of kindness, you read and you just want to become a better person. When i have a child, that's going to be a book i will make sure to read to my daughter.

Harry Potter (1,2) by J. K. Rowling

I don't have much to say, everybody knows how amazing these books are. I read first thre parts in Russian years ago, and recently i decided to read all seven of them in English. So far i finished two, but wanted to take a little break and read something else, but i genuienly enjoyed these two.

Notre Dame de Paris by Victor Hugo

The most beautiful and soul-touching love story i have ever read in my life! I can't even express in words how good the book is. Yes, there were a few boring chapters, but that's nothing comparing to the rest. As i was reading the final chapters, i felt everything in me was tearing apart, i can't deal with how unfair it all was... I can't even talk about it. If you still haven't read this, please do, you will love it but be aware - it might break your heart too!

Three Comrades by E. M. Remarque

It's one of those books i honestly didn't think i would like. I had a very sudden impulse to buy this book, but when i did, i though "why did i do that? i'm never going to read it!". But surprisingly to me, a few weeks later i actually felt the urge to start reading this, which i exactly what i did (obviously, i know). I finished this within one week, i fell in love with how Remarque writes and the story line is beautiful. As far as most people including myself know, all Remarque's books have sad ending, and normally, i'm not the type of person who even read these books, i want characters to live happily ever after, you know. But despite the ending, i loved the book so much, from cover to cover. And the more i think of the story, the more i love it.

Three Men In A Boat by Jerome K. Jerome

In my previous book post (read here) i said that 'Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy' was the funniest book i've read, well, now it's not. This one is. As i was reading it, i just couldn't help laughing, that's so well-written! I can't say the plot is very unique or exiting, but the book is definately worth reading, at least for the humour. And i know there's two parts, but i haven't yet read 'Three Men On Wheels', but surely i will at some point.

The Insulted and Humiliated by Fyodor Dostoyevsky

I just finished this book, literally just before writing this post. I'm not sure what i feel now. This reminds me of a love detective story in the best way possible. It's not really a detective but kinf of. The book got my attention from the very first page, which doesn't happen too often. I was reading it when i was on the bus back home from my college, and i tried my best not to weep as a child on a few very touching moments! Russian books have that charming atmosphere that i can't even express in words.

My Planner // 100th Post!

It's so weird for me to say it's my 100th post but so exiting! I really wanted to to something special and decided to show you my planner/diary, because i promised to do so awile ago. And can i just add that these pictures were so hard to take for some reason, i spend good 30 minutes trying to make it look okay. To be frank, they're still not my favorite and i hesitated whether i should show you them.

What i really like about this particular planner is the fact that it has rings inside, so that i can add in or take out pages any time i like. It's honestly the most convenient thing. This was a gift from my friend, so i can't tell where it's from, but i did buy the inner pages myself, i picked up seasonal ones. For fall i had orange pages with leafs, blue with snowflakes for winter, green for spring and pink for summer. I already use the spring ones, because i run out of the blue pages. And this way i just don't get too bored with writing in the notebook.

I use it not only as a planner but as a diary as well. I write down my plans, to do lists, dreams that i want to remember, my thoughts on different topics (for example, i wrote about friendship as shown on one of the picture below), my blog post ideas, of course, i write down some days of the month, i also make inspirational collages.
To Do list for the weekend
Home Decor Inspiration Collage. I also described my dream house on the next few pages.
Friendship Thoughts
A Day Out With My Girls
I use my planner almost every day, and just this month i started to do a new thing in it. I printed out a month calendar page. Originally, i was going to use it to write my plans for the months, but i ended up shortly writing down my days. As there's not much space to write in the rectangles, i came up with a few symbols to save the space.
My Monthly Overview
  • The days that i framed with a green border is for the days i spent cleaning.
  • The hearted days are for my favorite days of the month.
  • A dot between two wavy lines is for when my blog post went up. (As you can see, this month i wasn't very productive within this area).
  • Exclamation mark is for the days when i finished reading a book or started reading a new one. (And i can happily say that this month i've read quite a few books!)
  • And a cake sticker is for my 1 year blog anniversary! (Read the blog post on that here)
I'm not fully satisfied with these signs, i'm planning to add a few more for the month of March, but this is what i have so far. It's very convenient for me, and hopefully you found some ideas for your planner.
To be completely honest, i was very doubtful whether to write this post or not, because i don't usually write something of that kind, but i'm quite content with how it turned out. Hope you did too!

And by the way, please let me know if you enjoyed reading this type of post on my blog, because i actually have a lot more to share with you planning wise, so let me know if you would like to see more!

Love you lots <3

MAC Single Eyeshadow In Rich Core

I'm not even sure where to start with this post. I've postponed writing it for quite awhile, hoping i would find a way for this product to work for me. But it's the worst eyeshadow i've ever put on my eyes, which makes me so mad, we all know how much MAC charges for their makeup.

Why I Do Not Recommend Trying This Single Eyeshadow:
  • It takes so much time to build up the colour. As i swatched it in the shop, the pigmintation seemed okay, but as i tried to actually put it on my eyes, the colour just wouldn't show off.
  • The staying power is just awful. Never in my life i had such a terrible experience with creasing and colour fading. Even cheap eyeshadows stayed on me longer than this MAC one. And i tried different primers, i hoped that would maybe work. No, it didn't. During first few hours the eye makeup looks beautiful, the colouк is actually very pretty. Unfortunately, by the end of the day, you barely can notice there were eyeshadows, the colour just wears off so quickly! And i tried to wear it on it's own, i also tried it as an accent colour - nothing helped. Though it does work a tiny little bit better blended with other eyeshadows.
  • The price. I can't be cool with how awful the quality and how much i payed for that. And this is so weird to me, i've heard so so many great things about MAC eyeshadows, that's why i decided to try one. Maybe that's just this parcticular colour, i don't know, i probably will buy one more just to see if it would work any better.
So sorry if you felt like i actually got mad, i was just trying to be very exact with explaining why i didn't like the product. I really don't recommend you even trying this parcticular colour - such a waste of money. Hope you found this post helpful, i would be so happy if reading this will actually save someone's money. And if you have ANY recommendations with how to make it work, please let me know! By the way, what experience have you had with MAC eyeshadows? I would love toknow all of that.

Love you all so much,
Dasha

The Body Shop Pick Ups

The Body Shop

You probably know by now how much i love The Body shop, especially their Vitamin E line. I recently picked up two products from there. One of them is my all-time favorite product and the other one i bought for the first time to try out.

Vitamin E Face Mist. This is honestly my holy grail skin care product! i use it every singlt morning before putting on my makeup. It freshens up my skin after sleeping and it gives it a little bit of moister, which my skin needs all year round. I first tried this in the summer, and i head over hills fell in love with it. I have a full review on my blog, which you can read here. (it is actually one of my most read posts) It normally lasts me for three months or so, and this is my third bottle. I honestly love this product so much, will forever repurchase it!

Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil. I've already been using it for a while, and still have a mixed opinion on the oil. I mean i do like it, but just not sure it's what my skin needs. It does the job though. I was looking for a night serum for a few months, and i decided to try the Body Shop one, since it is one of my favorite brands skin care wise.

I would recommend both products for you to try, i honestly get exited so much every time i have something new from The Body Shop!

Lots of love,
Dasha P.S. Previous post
